meet Karen Burnside

Owner and Professional Bookkeeper

We serve small businesses remotely and in the Saratoga Springs, Utah area, particularly wellness practitioners, spa owners, and psychotherapists. I have always enjoyed budgeting and business finances, and I love helping small business owners achieve success through accurate and goal-oriented financial records. Bookkeeping encompasses all my skills and interests in one profession. It’s a win-win for my clients because getting rid of the stress and overwhelm of managing their finances lets them focus on growth and doing what they love every day.

I have a background in database programming and report writing. I started Burnside Bookkeeping in 2018, and it’s been a wonderful experience. One of the things I enjoy most about my work is learning about different businesses and their industries. I welcome the opportunity to talk to you about your unique field and how getting a better handle on your books could accelerate your success.

We make it simple from the start.

We understand every business has one-of-a-kind needs, which is why we offer a custom bookkeeping process for every one of our clients. We listen to your concerns and collaborate with you to develop solutions, whether you’ve been in business for a long time or are just starting up.

Schedule a Diagnostic Review

This is an initial consultation where we review your books. At the end, you get a detailed report and a quote for future services. We then set up your QBO or Xero system, even from scratch if that’s what you need.

Get Your Accounting Files Tuned Up

We follow the map created in the diagnostic review to clean up your accounting file. It might involve filing tax amendments or starting new books. Many of our clients also need assistance catching up with bank transactions.

Enjoy Ongoing Bookkeeping Services

We offer continuing bookkeeping services to keep your books in shape after your tune-up. In addition to monthly meetings to go over everything, we offer other services like accounts payable/receivable, payroll, and KPIs.
